How I Like to Work
It is important for me to support you from a place of compassion, non- judgement, warmth and understanding. Through building a trusting therapeutic relationship, I aim to create a safe space for you to share what is happening for you. We will work together to develop a shared understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing, and explore ways to meaningfully move forward in your life. I always aim to work flexibly and creatively, building on existing strengths, especially when working with young people and their families.
The Therapy Approaches I Use
I am trained to draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. The support I offer is predominantly shaped by principles from NarrativeTherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including parent-led CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I am led by a systemic approach, as I believe that the context in which difficulties present should always be held in mind. When working with young people, I often work very closely with the network around them.
My Credentials and Registration
I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU). I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC); my registration number is PYL38938. I have experience working as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in a variety of NHS settings, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Perinatal Mental Health Teams (PMHT).
